We recently hosted an exciting launch event for the new U.S. Democracy Hub—a comprehensive resource designed to empower nonprofits, funders, and other stakeholders working in the U.S. democracy space. With insightful discussions, platform demonstrations, and real-world use cases, the webinar was a deep dive into how the Democracy Hub can help nonprofit organizations increase their impact. Here are the key takeaways from the event:
The Democracy Hub, developed in collaboration with the Democracy Funders Network, is a first-of-its-kind data-driven platform that provides access to profiles for over 4,000 democracy-focused nonprofits and over 23,000 funders. It’s built to help users navigate the complex democracy ecosystem, understand trends, and make informed decisions.
The Hub is powered by Impala’s Ecosystems tool, allowing users to explore the democracy sector by themes like voting rights, open journalism, and civic engagement. Users can filter by specific funders or nonprofits, view comprehensive financials, and identify opportunities for collaboration or funding support.
As Impala CEO Shahar Brukner shared during the event, the Hub’s mission is to improve access to data and support the entire democracy ecosystem in a unified way. By providing free access to critical information and tools, the U.S. Democracy Hub aims to bolster nonprofits’ capacity to engage with funders, identify gaps, and foster connections that drive real impact.
Guest speakers, including Kristen Cambell (CEO of PACE) and Roy Speckhardt (Development Director of VoteRiders), highlighted how they plan to leverage the Hub. From identifying funding opportunities to advocating for increased investment in democracy initiatives, the platform provides an invaluable resource for both seasoned and new players in the field.
The Democracy Hub is now live and free for everyone to use. Whether you’re looking to benchmark your organization’s impact, find new funding sources, or simply explore the democracy ecosystem, we encourage you to sign up and start exploring today.
