Discover a Person’s (or Group of People’s) Connections

Impala for Fundraisers automatically looks for connections from your team (including board members) and existing funders and includes those in your prospect lists.

However, Impala for Fundraisers also includes expanded capabilities to let you run custom relationship searches! You can access these custom searches from your homepage.

From the homepage, select the Find connections tile from the bottom right and select Discover who a person or group of people could connect you to.

With the Network Navigator, you can search and select one or more people on Impala to see a list of all organizations and people that they're connected to. This is a great way to see all the existing connections that a person has in the sector.

You can select people to use at origin points with the Search to Select or Select from My Organization options. 

Search to Select 

Type your person of interest's name into the search bar and click to select them. You can search for and select one or more people.

Select from My Organization

Click the + icon to see the full list of available team members from your organization's People tab. You can use the search bar to find a specific person or filter the list with the checkboxes.

Click a person's name to select them as an origin. You can select multiple people to use as origins.

Step  1

You can use either selection method (or both) to select your origins. Once your selections are made, click the Navigate button to see your results.

Your results will show you the connections these people have to Organizations and other People.

The Organizations tab will include direct and 1st degree connections, whereas the People tab will include only direct connections.

You can edit your search by clicking the Edit Origins button or filter your results with the Filters.

Click into an organization to learn more about their Match Score or view their profile.

Click Add to list to add them to any of your lists on Impala.

To view the details of the connection, click the Paths button.

Similarly, for connections to People, click the View Paths button to see the connection details.

If we have contact details for an individual, you can click the envelope icon to use a contact credit and unlock their direct email.
