The Tag Request Form allows nonprofits to submit a request to update their classification within the Democracy Hub. Updating your classification will update which ecosystems your organization appears in within the Hub. Having the right classification helps others in the Hub, including funders, better understand your work.
A nonprofit may submit this request if:
- the nonprofit is already tagged and included in a curated ecosystem within the Hub, but needs to update their tags and classification; or
- the nonprofit is a democracy-focused organization but is not yet included in a curated ecosystem within the Hub and would like to be.
Only nonprofit, grantseeking organizations are eligible to request classification in the Democracy Hub. If your organization is a grantmaker, please do NOT submit this form.
If you have any questions about your appearance in a curated ecosystem, or about your designation as a grantmaker, please reach out to support@impala.digital.
Step 1
Click into the Update my organization's tags button on the Democracy Hub.
Step 2
Click to expand the ecosystem heading you would like to be included in. Then, select the tags that apply to your organization’s work. In order to be included in an ecosystem, you must select at least one tag within it.
You can request to be included in as many of the ecosystems as you want, but just be sure that the tags you select are significantly relevant to your work and make up a key element of your organization’s mission. We do not recommend selecting all tags in an ecosystem.
If you’re not sure what a specific ecosystem or tag means, hover over the ? or 🛈 icons for a quick explanation.
If your organization is already listed within the Hub, be sure to select ALL tags you want applied, even if they were already previously added for your organization. Previous tags that are not re-selected will be removed.
If you’re not sure which tags have already been applied to your organization, simply take a look at the Hub and note anywhere you see the badge.
Step 3
Once you have selected all your tags, scroll down and complete the additional information section.
Here, add in any relevant notes about your organization’s work to help the reviewers from the Democracy Funders Network best understand your request. This can include context about your specific mission, programs related to the tag/s you’ve selected, etc. You can type brief descriptions and/or provide url links to specific webpages, annual reports, etc. to help support your comments.
Step 4
After completing the form, click the Submit Request button.
The reviewers will evaluate your request, and Impala will notify you of the outcome and update the platform accordingly. This process may take up to 3 weeks.
