    fundamentals of good credit program: provides training in understanding and developing credit. This program is recognized as an approved homebuyer counseling/education course for many houston area down payment assistance providers and meets the financial education requirement for houston area individual development account (ida) saving programs. completion of this program results in the client earning the credit coalition's financial and homebuyer education certificate. upon graduation from the series, each client will have an understanding of his/her own financial wellness and overall credit health. Clients are empowered to change their lives with financial knowledge to reach their specific financial and housing goals.The credit coalition is a hud-approved housing counseling agency and a member of the reverse mortgage education counseling fha roaster. the houston area ida program and many down payment assistance programs throughout the greater houston area accept the completion of the "fundamentals of good credit" as meeting the financial/homebuyer education requirement for their programs.in the fiscal year ended 11/30/2024, 690 clients were served between the different programs including, but not limited to, community financial and homebuyer education, reverse mortgage counseling, and foreclosure intervention counseling.
