SOAR Re-Entry Program
We have improved the lives of more than 650 formerly incarcerated individuals since 2016. We continue to build capacity for the SOAR Re-Entry Center, our Community-Based Adult Re-Entry Program, with outreach, collaboration with law enforcement/community supervision officers, and partnerships with the local municipalities, the Liberty County Board of Commissioners, Diversity Health Center, Hinesville Housing Authority, and Long State Prison. We focus on 14 key areas based on best practices, needs assessments, and client feedback. Our priorities are to promote public safety and reduce recidivism by providing support, opportunity, advocacy, and resilient behavior. Homeless Prevention and Housing support by providing emergency shelter, transitional housing, housing search, and rental assistance. We assist clients in obtaining replacement of their vital documents including birth certificates, SSN cards, state IDs, and other documents. We provided First-Day-Out services, clothing, shoes, personal care items, transportation, connections to health care and behavioral health resources, food, employment preparation, workshops, and spiritual and family counseling. Our service delivery team conducts Intake and Assessments, Peer Mentoring, individualized care, entrepreneurship coaching, and advocacy. We have a six-week SOAR Navigators program to assist clients in maximizing their reentry planning and opportunities. This program includes a housing risk assessment questionnaire, FDIC Money Smart Curriculum, computer literacy training, Understanding Tenant and Landlord Rights, online application and resume building, and referrals to WorkSource Coastal for employment assistance, and a benefits assessment. In 2022 we sustained our donor base, hosted our 6th Annual Charity Golf Tournament, participated in Giving Tuesday, and increased community awareness about reentry services. Our vision for 2023 is to increase our program reserves, locate a home and implement a transitional housing asset to our services, host a Re-Entry Matters Fair and Open House (September), and provide SOAR Program updates to the City of Hinesville, City of Flemington, and City of Riceboro.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2022 – Dec 31, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$8.4K
