    Advocacy Provided by DANE - DANE Advocacy provided direct advocacy case management and crisis intervention services to Deaf DeafBlind DeafDisabled and Hard of Hearing survivors of domestic violence sexual assault stalking and trafficking. Services were delivered in American Sign Language ASL including safety planning access to interpreters support groups court accompaniment and referrals to culturally and linguistically appropriate community resources. Our first year we provided services for a total of 15 survivors.

  • Program 2 [2024]

    HIV AIDS workshop. Sponsored by the city of Phoenix in response to the lack of accessible HIV AIDS education for the Deaf community DANE Advocacy developed and hosted a Deaf-led workshop focused on increasing awareness prevention and early intervention. Delivered entirely in American Sign Language ASL the workshop covered topics such as safe practices testing resources stigma reduction and culturally relevant support options for individuals at risk or living with HIV AIDS. We had a total of 12 participants in this workshop.

  • Program 3 [2024]

    December 2023 - Holiday Box We reached 64 individuals across 14 families providing food and gifts during the holiday season. We encountered individuals who regularly face food scarcity lack proper bedding and urgently need clothing. After the event we were contacted by others who had just heard about our efforts and needed assistance. In response were committed to extending our support through the end of the year. Participating community partners making this event a success are Arizona Freelance Interpreting Services Arizona Commission for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing and YWCA Southern Arizona and Tucson Deaf Community Center!
