  • Talisman Youth Camp Programs

    Talisman programs increased enrollment over 40% to 347 youth enrolled in 2023. Talisman facilitated 5 sessions ranging from 7-13 days with the largest session reaching 81 enrolled campers. We facilitated activities such as arts and crafts, science, camping, hiking, caving, swimming, field games, and field trips involving ropes courses, inflatable canoeing on the Green River, Tourists baseball games, Carl Sandburg house visits, and many hikes in the public lands all around Zirconia and Henderson county. We facilitated 5 parent workshops offering education on how to take camp home and our philosophies on camp and the impact of our campers.

  • Program 1 [2024]

    We transitioned a new Camp Director and Executive Director into their roles and had a successful summer with a lot of exceptional community connections. The Executive Director was asked to speak at several conferences on neurodivergent programming. . Post Helene we successfully raised $33,000 to support 14 campers affected in the area and to house responders and trainings for Helene responders. Our kitchen was open from October through the new year to provide thousands of meals to remote areas all over WNC.
