    Season: Each season, Monterey Symphony performs major works by great composers, lesser-known works by them and their contemporaries, works by living composers and popular music that uses symphonic instrumentation.   • Program 2 [2018]

    Youth Concerts: During the 2017-2018 fiscal year, Monterey Symphony's free Monday Youth Concerts were presented to over 6,500 students from 50 schools in the Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito counties, with 30 accompanying In-School Presentations. For many children who participate in our programs, this is their first experience learning about and hearing symphonic music LIVE! Feedback provided by the schools which attended our concerts reflects that 97% of the students who participated expressed a desire to attend future symphony performances. Our programs receive a tremendous amount of positive feedback from both teachers and students.

  • Program 3 [2018]

    Other: Monterey Symphony performs music that has both public appeal and intellectual merit. This includes selecting a repertoire in our patrons' "comfort zone," as Monterey Symphony actively seeks ways to enlarge that zone. Monterey Symphony provides advance materials and information which enable our patrons to enhance their concert-going experience. The organizations engages guest artists who illuminate the music through their interpretive skills and virtuosity.Monterey Symphony monitors its traditional concert halls to ensure that the concert experience for both performers and audience meets optimal standards. Monterey Symphony presents innovative experiences in the concert hall through electronic media and technological advances. Monterey Symphony also perform in non-traditional settings.
