How to start building out your profile
Your organization's free profile is pre-populated from your most recent Form 990. This information can be updated by uploading a new Form 990 (instructions here) or be updated manually.
Keeping all this information up to date helps donors find your profile with ease and gives them a quick snapshot of your organization when performing due diligence.
First, press the Edit icon in the upper right corner to open the side bar that allows you to edit. There are four sections for editing General Info, Headquarters Address, Social Media, and 990s.
General Info
Here you can update your organization's name, website, and mission statement. A red * indicates a required field.
If you're a funder, you can also update your Grantmaker tag by toggling on "I'm a Grantmaker".
Updating your Mission Statement in particular can help spotlight your organization in searches and ecosystems on Impala!
You can also add Attributes and Leadership tags to your profile to highlight information about your organization.
If you're a Grantmaker looking for new grantees, be sure to toggle on the "Open for Solicitations" attribute.
Headquarter Address
If your organization has moved since its last Form 990 filing, you can update your Headquarter address here.
Social Media
Your website above is pulled from your Form 990, but additional Social Media links can be added. This is the place to drop the links to your other profiles so that funders and nonprofits can see your social footprint.
990s
From Edit Profile go to the 990s tab. Here you can view and download the Form 990s Impala has on file, or quickly upload a new one to update your profile. For instructions on uploading a 990, view this article (link).
Importantly, when you upload a new Form 990 Impala will automatically update your profile using the information in this document. This usually takes about 2-3 days and you'll be sent an email notifying you once it is complete.
Impact tab
On the impact tab you can add additional details on your profile such as Cause Areas, Populations, Key Impact Metrics, and Programs. To learn more about these view our articles below:
