WILL DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN A PROGRAM OR PROGRAMS OF ACTIVITIES WHICH SHALL ENCOURAGE HISTORICAL RESEARCH AND WRITING, AND FOSTER THE EDUCATION OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC ABOUT PERSONS, MATTERS, EVENTS AND THINGS OF SIGNIFICANT LOCAL AND REGIONAL HISTORICAL AND SOCIAL INTEREST. WILL ACQUIRE, PROTECT, PRESERVE AND IMPROVE HISTORIC STRUCTURES AND PERSONAL PROPERTY FOR THE PURPOSE OF DISPLAY, RESEARCH, AND INTERPRETATION. WILL SPONSOR PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES CALCULATED TO FOSTER AND IMPROVE PUBLIC HISTORICAL AWARENESS AND PARTICIPATION.
