Mission Statement

EMPOWER ALL STUDENTS TO ACHIEVE THEIR HIGHEST POTENTIAL AND ENSURE A TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE.OFE RELIES PRIMARILY ON VOLUNTEERS, NOT PAID STAFF, TO CARRY OUT ITS MISSION. BY KEEPING EXPENSES MINIMAL, THE GOAL IS TO MAXIMIZE THE AMOUNT OF GRANTS TO BE PAID OVER TO THE SCHOOL DISTRICT. OFE'S EFFORTS ARE GUIDED BY A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) BETWEEN OFE AND THE ORONO SCHOOL DISTRICT, WHICH WAS DRAFTED AND APPROVED IN 2021. THE MOU IDENTIFIES THE ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF EACH PARTY AS THEY RELATE TO THE ONGOING FUNDRAISING AND PHILANTHROPY EFFORTS FOR THE ORONO SCHOOL DISTRICT AND COMMUNITY. OFE RAISES MONIES THROUGH VARIOUS FORMATS ALLOWING DONORS TO ALLOCATE MONEY TO THEIR CHOSEN FUND OF INTEREST. MONEY FROM THESE FUNDS IS THEN GRANTED TO THE SCHOOLS TO BE USED FOR EACH FUND'S INTENDED PURPOSE.
