The Boothbay Region Land Trust (BRLT) is a non-profit corporation organized under the general laws of the State of Maine and operated exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes. The BRLT is a membership organization that engages in and promotes the selective preservation of natural resources in the Boothbay Region of Maine. Interest in property is acquired through purchases, bequests, donations, bargain sales, and the conveyance of conservation easements. All of its real estate holdings are open to the public, although some are restricted in use if the preservation intent is to provide and protect wildlife habitats and nesting areas. The BRLT also is active in promoting the scientific study of natural resources and the environment.
