Program 1 [2020]
Currently, F&W has eight summer time programs, each of which began at a different point over 80 years. At every camp, young people are challenged physically and socially, learn new skills, take exciting risks, and have time for quiet reflection. We emphasize building inclusive communities, celebrating difference, working and living simply, caring for nature, and respecting the Light in every person. In each of our camp programs, you will find a variety of activities offered with a different focus, schedule, and individual camp traditions (such as songs, special days, all camp games, and so on). Although the activities vary, all camps have the same overall program goals, which align with our Quaker values.Timberlake is our oldest camp, created with the ethic of hard work, great play, and lifelong friends for boys and gender non-binary, living in nature. Indian Brook, a camp for girls and gender non-binary, was designed for girls and gender non-binary and young women to challenge themselves, learn their own strengths and find their voices. These two camps offer the widest range of program; barns and gardens, creative arts, outdoor living skills, carpentry and work projects, wilderness trips, and so much more. Two of our camps focus on specific program areas; Flying Cloud offers simple wood craft and primitive living skills and Saltash Mountain provides travel and wilderness challenge. We also have two offerings for 15-17 year old teenagers; Tamarack Farm, which emphasizes service, farm and work projects and Questers, a longer wilderness challenge and dynamic small group program. Red Spruce Grove campers learn to live off-the-grid, unplugged and close to the land. While cooking over an open fire, they create tasty meals, build shelters, learn ax and knife safety, archery and other wilderness-living skills. This camp is for Girls and gender non binary. And for our youngest campers, the Barn Day Camp offers day programming which includes swim lessons, arts and crafts, nature and trip skills, building projects and many other great adventures!GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2020 – Dec 31, 2020Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$1.6MSummer Programs
