GOODWILL'S MISSION SERVICES HELP INDIVIDUALS WHO FACE BARRIERS TO SELF-SUFFICIENCY PREPARE FOR THE WORKPLACE AND CREATE MORE REWARDING AND INDEPENDENT LIVES FOR THEMSELVES AND THEIR FAMILIES. IN THE YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2021, GOODWILL SERVED 3,045 INDIVIDUALS THROUGH ITS MISSION SERVICES. PLACEMENT-ORIENTED JOB TRAINING PROGRAMS ENROLLED 300 INDIVIDUALS CONSIDERED HARDEST TO EMPLOY, OFFERING CASE MANAGEMENT, JOB SKILLS AND JOB READINESS TRAINING, ON-THE-JOB-TRAINING, PLACEMENT, AND POST-PLACEMENT SERVICES. GOODWILL'S SOCIAL ENTERPRISES PROVIDED WORK EXPERIENCE AND A PAYCHECK TO 114 INDIVIDUALS IN RETAIL, HOUSEKEEPING, AND FULFILLMENT. (THE RETAIL PROGRAM IS DESCRIBED IN PART III 4B.) MASSHIRE BOSTON CAREER CENTER, THE ONE-STOP CAREER CENTER GOODWILL OPERATES, ASSISTED 2,639 INDIVIDUALS WITH CAREER SERVICES AND REFERRALS TO TRAINING PROGRAMS, DOCUMENTED 226 PLACEMENTS, AND ENGAGED 90 BUSINESSES IN 116 ON-SITE AND VIRTUAL RECRUITMENT SESSIONS. SEE SCHEDULE O: RETAIL PROGRAMTHE RETAIL PROGRAM IS A SOCIAL ENTERPRISE THAT BENEFITS THE COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING JOB TRAINING FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT; CREATING JOBS; AND MAKING QUALITY, LOW-COST GOODS AVAILABLE AT AFFORDABLE PRICES. IN THE YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2021, GOODWILL'S RETAIL PROGRAM OPERATED 15 STORES AND COLLECTED DONATIONS AT 17 SITES THROUGHOUT MASSACHUSETTS. THE RETAIL PROGRAM PROVIDED JOBS AND JOB TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES IN COLLECTING, SORTING, DISTRIBUTING, MERCHANDISING, AND SELLING DONATED GOODS. Schedule O: Job Training and Career ServicesGoodwill is a community-based nonprofit organization and a leading provider of job training and career services in Massachusetts. Goodwill's mission services help individuals who face barriers to self-sufficiency prepare for the workplace, find jobs, and advance in order to support themselves and their families. In the year ending June 30, 2025, Goodwill served 4,071 individuals through its mission services. Goodwill Boston Career Center, the career center Goodwill operates at its headquarters in Roxbury, assisted 3,536 individuals with career services including resume preparation, interview practice, online application assistance, labor market information, and training referrals. The career center also brought 69 employers on site for 65 recruitment events and documented 259 placements. Work readiness and skills training programs enrolled 129 people considered hardest to employ, offering case management, job skills and job readiness training, on-the-job training, placement, and post-placement supports. Trainees included individuals with limited work histories and low educational attainment, citizens returning from correction, victims of domestic violence, and individuals on Transitional Assistance. Of the participants, 51 found jobs and started on paths to self-sufficiency.Developmental services offered a range of employment, pre-employment, and other day programs to 406 individuals with developmental and other disabilities, including public high school students with special needs. Employment-oriented services include work readiness training, on-the-job training, case management, placement, and post-placement supports.Goodwill's social enterprises provided on-the-job training and a paycheck to 167 individuals through the retail program and the housekeeping/maintenance contracted services.
