Day Habilitation Programs
New England Village offers highly individualized services including Day Habilitation Programs at two facilities -- the Efron Center for Enrichment (ECE) and the Sollar Wellness Center (SWC) -- both of which were custom-designed and build specifically for adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities. The centers offer bright and spacious group rooms, adapted computer labs, fitness rooms, training kitchens, outdoor patios, and walking trails. The SWC features an indoor pool (utilized by both programs) and the ECE offers horticulture and multi-sensory rooms. Program offerings include fitness, horticulture, art, music, technology, and aquatics.GeographiesPembroke, MA, USA;Kingston, MA, USADatesNot indicatedSourceUser-generatedHealth,Sports and recreation,Arts and culture,Community and economic development,Human servicesAdults,People with disabilities,Economically disadvantaged people,Unemployed people180–Employment Supports
Since our inception, NEV has been helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities maximize their vocational potential and earn a salary through meaningful employment. Our “Employment First” philosophy prioritizes exploration, vocational training, and positive work habits and results in consistent and varied work opportunities for the people we support. We continually seek community partners who will provide valuable hands-on career exploration and experience opportunities for the people we serve. NEV’s Colchester Neighborhood Farm (CNF) is a social enterprise where the people we serve work and volunteer alongside non-disabled farm workers. As a certified year-round organic farm with heated greenhouses, CNF is a tremendous service for local families, restaurants, and food pantries.GeographiesKingston, MA, USA;Pembroke, MA, USADatesNot indicatedSourceUser-generatedCommunity and economic development,Human rights,Human servicesPeople with disabilities,Low-income people,Working poor,Unemployed people,Adults180–Community-Based Day Services
Individuals who are not working full-time receive complementary supports in our integrated Community-Based Day Services (CBDS) Program. Using a person-centered approach toward career exploration and planning, the CBDS Program provides a variety of tools, including skills training and other community-based experiences to serve as a pathway towards employment. The highly customized program is based on individuals’ personal interests and motivations and includes volunteerism, community outings, vocational and life skills curriculum, fitness, art and music, and aquatics activities.GeographiesPembroke, MA, USADatesNot indicatedSourceUser-generatedCommunity and economic development,Education,Human rights,Human servicesAdults,People with hearing impairments,People with intellectual disabilities,People with learning disabilities,People with physical disabilities,People with psychosocial disabilities,People with vision impairments,Low-income people,Working poor180–
