Educational Support for New Haven Academy
Program Service Accomplishments from FNHA, Form 990-EZ, FYE 6/30/2022:Through New Haven Academy Interdistrict Magnet School, Friends of New Haven Academy served 320 students during the fiscal year ended June 30, 2022: Purchased office and classroom supplies for 25 faculty and staff. Purchased classroom library books for use by all students; Replaced missing textbooks and novels to complete classroom sets for student use in Literature and History classes; Provided postage and printing for newsletter regarding the schools programs and accomplishments; Paid student registration fees and purchased textbooks for New Haven Academy students concurrently enrolled at Quinnipiac University and Southern Connecticut State University; Provided food for student events and day-long or half-day faculty professional development meetings; Paid fees for student activities on an "Advisory Endeavors" field trip day for at least 200 students (including, but not limited to, instruction in rock climbing, martial arts, cooking, yoga, and foreign language instruction); Paid travel expenses for teacher professional development opportunities; With the support of a Rockefeller Foundation Social and Emotional Learning grant, provided supplies, materials, and food for a cohort of student Advisory Leaders, a stipend to a faculty member to rewrite the schools Advisory curriculum, and support for two extracurricular clubs; Provided supplemental materials for classroom use (audiobooks and films); Covered van rental expenses for outings of the student Outdoor Club; Covered the cost of a visit by a local food truck for a Spanish class food and culture unit; Provided a College Scholarship for one graduating senior funded by a grant from the Lender Family Foundation, through the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven.Because the Friends of New Haven Academy supports the educational program of New Haven Academy substantially all program expenses could be considered grants.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJul 1, 2021 – Jun 30, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$28.6KCollege Scholarship Program

Friends of New Haven AcademyForm 990-EZ, Part III, Program Service AccomplishmentsThrough New Haven Academy Interdistrict Magnet School Friends of New Haven Academy served 330 students during FYE June 30, 2025: o Purchased office and classroom supplies for 35 faculty and staff. o Purchased classroom library books for use by all students; o Replaced missing textbooks and novels to complete classroom sets for student use in literature classes;o Postage and printing for communications regarding the schools programs and accomplishments; o Student registration fees and purchased textbooks for New Haven Academy students concurrently enrolled at Quinnipiac University and Southern Connecticut State University; o Food for student events and day-long or half-day faculty professional development meetings; o Fees for student activities on an "Advisory Endeavors" field trip day.
