    Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry - The Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry serves as many as 150 meals daily to its guests. Foods are prepared by the in-house kitchen staff and volunteers, and donated by the Park Slope Food Coop, local restaurants and neighborhood volunteers. The Organization currently employs a professional chef to ensure that guests can continue to enjoy fresh, nutritious and delicious food every day.

  • Program 2 [2020]

    Transitional Housing for Women - The Frances Residence offers fully furnished studio apartments for expecting or single mothers in need of temporary emergency housing. Mothers receive pre- and post-natal support services and assistance in support of their search for work and permanent housing for up to one year. The Frances Residence program helps mothers become self-sufficient by focusing on maternal/child health training, career development, and ongoing life skills. The Frances Residence coordinates with neighborhood social service agencies to secure permanent affordable housing and to explore employment opportunities.

  • Food Distribution and Hunger Prevention

    FOOD DISTRIBUTION/HUNGER PREVENTION - DURING 2024, CHIPS GREATLY EXPANDED OUR SERVICES TO ACCOMMODATE AN INCREASE IN NEED, ESPECIALLY FOR OUR PANTRY SERVICES. WE SERVED APPROXIMATELY 190,000 MEALS, AND DISTRIBUTED APPROXIMATELY 25,000 PANTRY BAGS TO FOOD INSECURE RESIDENTS OF OUR COMMUNITY. OUR PANTRY PROGRAM ALMOST TRIPLED FROM 2023 TO 2024 AS A RESULT OF THE ADDITION OF OUR MOBILE PANTRY VAN LATE IN 2023. THIS UNBELIEVABLE RESPONSE TO FOOD INSECURITY IN NYC WAS ACCOMPLISHED WITH THE HELP OF VOLUNTEERS, WHO PROVIDED OVER 38,000 HOURS OF ASSISTANCE.
