Women Physicians Leadership Project
WOMAN PHYSICIANS: TAKING LEADERSHIP ROLES IN THE MEDICAL COMMMUNITY THIS PROJECT FOCUSED ON DEALING WITH THE REALITY THAT, FOR A VARIETY OF REASONS, WOMEN PHYSICIANS HAVE BECOME A GROWING AND MORE IMPORTANT FORCE IN THE DELIVERY OF HEALTH CARE BUT HAVE NOT ACHIEVED LEADERSHIP EQUILIBRIUM WITH THEIR MALE COLLEAGUES. THE REASONS ARE BOTH SOCIOLOGICAL AND FINANCIAL AND ALSO REFLECT THE FACT THAT WOMEN PHYSICIANS TEND TO SELECT THE LOWER PAID SPECIALTIES.
