At SPARC Inc. our mission is to provide comprehensive respite to all Westchester, NY families caring for someone with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD). We do this by ensuring that individuals with IDD have a great time at innovative programs that maximize their potential while their caregivers are busy at work, caring for other family members or taking a much-needed break. Sixteen highly trained staff members serve 600 participants aged 12-80 and family members. SPARC offers a wide range of arts, athletics, recreational, educational and wellness programs for special needs community members. At SPARC participants with IDD work on skill development in a nurturing, inclusive community that does not otherwise exist in their lives. Their diagnoses include Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome and social/emotional disorders. They all experience sensory dysregulation and are typically isolated and come from various socioeconomic backgrounds.
