Holistic Employment Services for Immigrants
In 2022, 67% of job seekers we supported were immigrants; 78% identified as BIPOC; 59% were english language learners; 63% were unemployed at intake; 7% were experiencing homelessness. We are one of the only organizations providing holistic employment services for immigrants and refugees. After completing a strategic planning process to assess organizational strengths and community needs, we will expand and focus our programs to center the needs of these job seekers. Key Accomplishments:1. Completed a new Strategic Plan which deepens our work in four priority areas: 1) Develop Daily Work's niche with and on behalf of immigrant communities; 2) Build transformational relationships that deepen well-being and connectedness; 3) Advance equity and inclusion by removing systemic barriers to employment; and 4) Foster organizational resilience.2. Provided 1,815 individual service visits to 180 job seekers, an average of 38 appointments per week.3. 80 percent of job seekers who came regularly to Daily Work (three or more appointments) found new work that earned an average wage of $17.37/hour.4. Trained and supported 35 volunteers and 12 student interns who contributed 6537 hours with an estimated monetary value of $207,868. 5. Delivered and installed 23 TECI laptop computers.6.
