While we raise money to build the permanent Memorial and Museum, we exhibit our collection through our small museum to educate the public about Katrina and disaster preparedness and inequities suffered by the minority and lower income communities. Even though Hurricane Ida adversely affected our operations and fundraising, we have moved into a new facility where we are welcoming the public and passing on these stories and lessons to the next generation.
