Water Well Installation and Support
The Organization began operations to install wells in the communities of South Sudan in 2005. In 2020-21, the organization shifted to funding the new Water for South Sudan Foundation in South Sudan, which is now implementing the work. In 2021-22, the organization funded the drilling of 40 new wells, impacting more than 30,000 people. The Organization funded the rehabilitation of 53 older wells, ensuring that the flow of precious clean water does not stop. The Organization also supported 93 community hygiene education training programs, trained 240 people to participate in water user committees, and instructed 80 people on pump mechanic training. (Continued on Schedule O)In addition, the Organization funded administrative support, which supported WFSS Foundation's partnerships with other INGOs including UNICEF, The Carter Center and NCA (Norwegian Church Aid). The Organization began operations to install wells in the communities of South Sudan in 2005. In 2024-2025, the organization supported the Water for South Sudan Foundation in expanding access to clean water and strengthening community-managed water systems across South Sudan. Community water points supported through this funding now provide clean water to over 500,000 people each day. Funding enabled the drilling of 28 new wells, the rehabilitation of 13 wells, the construction of 3 water yards (12 new), and the installation of 1 latrine (35 new), improving water access and sanitation services in underserved communities. (Continued on Schedule O)The Organization also funded 31 Water Management Committees, training 807 community members responsible for managing, maintaining and overseeing their water points and strengthening community hygiene practices. Additional support included one women's Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) and programming in women's livelihoods and menstrual health and hygiene, reflecting community priorities and contributing to broader health and economic outcomes.
