Hill County Paw Pals continues to become established as an integral aspect of the community. The organization adopted out quite a few dogs and cats in 2020, however several hundred were transferred to other no-kill rescue groups. Volunteers have expanded the network of pet rescue contacts and have been able to assist the Hillsboro City impoundment facility in achieving zero euthanasia. We have established working relationships with no kill shelters or foster-based groups in the metroplex, Colorado, and even Vermont. A partnership continues with Texas Coalition for Animal Protection that offers opportunity for low cost sterilizations and vaccinations to the community. During 2020, 496 dogs and cats were sterilized and again the monthly rabies vaccinations exceeded 100/month for a total of 1388. The facility contiues to serve as a beacon for pet welfare in the community.
