Community Grants and Support Projects
The Organization directly administers multiple funds, including seven endowment funds, according to the federal and state requirements, and the National Standards for Community Foundations. The majority of the direct support for the Organization is received from the State of Iowa, currently for the benefit of Carroll County and Sac County. Of those funds, 25% are required to be placed in permanent endowments for the benefit of the citizens of Carroll County and Sac County. The remaining funds from the State are to be used for the public benefit of each county to enhance the cultural, educational, and recreational opportunities, as well as for the public health and safety of local communities and other community opportunities. The Organization will only provide grants to qualified projects meeting the charitable objectives to benefit community citizens and to governmental organizations or those recognized as eligible charitable organizations under 26 U.S.C. 501(c)(3) or those similarly qualified. Similarly, the Organization administers its other funds to meet their stated functions, under the Organization's governing criteria.During the current year the Organization awarded 40 grants for the following types of projects: flooring replacement for American legion, shelter house improvements, toys for a daycare, security cameras for a daycare, lighting and fencing for baseball field, kayaks & trailers for conservation board, sending kids with cancer to summer camp, community sign, tanker truck for fire department, industrial fans for county fair, infant room, facility improvements, cooler and compressor, smart tv and computer for senior center, church restoration and repair, break area for staff of mental health center, handicapped accessible bus, trail resurfacing, nature play addition, playground expansion, facility for wrestling club, improvements for rec center, contribution to community center, and entrace sign for local community.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJul 1, 2023 – Jun 30, 2024Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$406.8K
