97th Annual Birthday Celebration - Prayer and libation kicked off an evening that saw performances from vocalist Maimouna Yousseff (aka Mumu Fresh), flutist Claudia Hayden, and poet Joel Leon, as well as a riveting panel discussion illuminating social movement building with Noor Tagouri, Rosa Clemente, and Jasiri Basel. The celebration was attended by over 300 people at the center and over 1,000 people online.

Annual Commemoration - The 57th anniversary of Malcolm X's martyrdom was commemorated this year. Dr. Cornel West lit up the Ballroom of the Center with an impassioned speech on the unwavering conviction of Malcolm X, while trumpeter Keyon Harrold and harpist Brandee Younger performed a moving tribute. The commemoration was attended by over 300 people at the center and over 1,000 people online.
