Ramadan event. Muslim community benefitted from daily lectures, special educational events, nightly prayers led by renowned Qaris/reciters, and programs hosting distinguished guest speakers. Saturday Quran school & Sunday Islamic school. Over 200 students attended the 2 weekends schools with emphasis on education in various religious sectors including the study of the Quran, Islamic and inter-faith studies, language, and civic education. Students also participated in field trips and quiz competitions.Youth committee activities. Various age-appropriate lecture series, book clubs, group talks, and social events are arranged to cater to youth in different age groups on regular basis throughout the year. Community Welfare programs. 1. Zakat and sadaqa fund. Various families are helped with their rents and utility payments, everyday household expenses, and medical bills on an ongoing basis. 2. Ramadhan food drive. Over 250 families were helped with essential groceries in form of food boxes and grocery stores gift cards right before the Holy month of Ramadhan. 3. Annual winter clothing drive. Over 100 families were helped with winter clothing, shoes, and blankets. The event was open to both Muslims and Non-Muslim and all faith communities benefitted from the drive. (in kind donations.)4. Sleeping bags drive. An annual event to benefit Syrian refugees living in camps in Jordan and Lebanon.
