To provide temporary relief to victims of disasters, both natural and man-made, along the Gulf Coast who suffer financial or economic hardship as a result of such disaster, within the meaning of Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. Additionally, to provide external resources and support to the State of Louisiana, within the meaning of Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code in its efforts to implement recovery, find answers and shape long-term solutions which will allow the Gulf Coast to thrive and withstand future disasters, both natural and man-made, including long-term investments in education, science and technology which will produce critical benefits in safety, restoration, habitability and economic viability.
