Community ReUse Market Outreach
In 2023 The ReUse Market diverted 6.6 tons of creative materials from the landfill and participated in community outreach to educate the public about its mission. Community outreach included speaking with attendees at the Boise Basin Quilter's Guild annual quilt show, organizing school field trips to visit The Market, hosting a craft event for attendees of the Ada County Kid's Duathlon (approximately 250 participants), and offering take-away crafts during First Friday art events in Garden City (approximately 90 participants) as well as at events hosted by the North End Organic Nursery (fairy wands for Summer Solstice, mason bee hives for the pollinator party, with 30-45 crafts built at each event). The ReUse Market also provides free and greatly discounted supplies to many teachers across the Treasure Valley.Funds generated through the retail Market have been placed in reserve to support the long-term growth and sustainability of The ReUse Market. Reserve funding will be used for moving to a more permanent and accessible location that allows space for continued and expanded community outreach and educational offerings.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2023 – Dec 31, 2023Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$15.9K
