Kerala Association of Washington KAW, is a non-profit, non-political, non-religious cultural organization working towards the betterment of the social lifestyle of Keralites in the Pacific Northwest. Typically the organization has several activities per year and strives to maintain and promote the golden heritage of Kerala. Activities: 1. We have cultural events, stage shows featuring celebrities from Kerala, sports tournaments, literary and educational activities, and charity initiatives. 2. The biggest social function is Onam which is the harvest festival in Kerala, India. This usually happens in August or September. Typical Onam Sadya food is served and games and cultural activities of the region are presented. 3. We also conduct Malayalam language classes.
