Koohi Goth Women Hospital
Koohi Goth Women Hospital (KGWH) was established in 2005 partnering with Atia Zafar Foundation. Koohi Goth Hospital (KGH) has offered unique services to women and children not only to the surrounding areas but all over Karachi and Pakistan . They provide extensive education on a rare condition called fistula, or excessive vaginal leakage of urine and stool due to childbirth. Even more staggering are the statistics. Roughly 100,000 women experience this condition worldwide! Women who incurred onset of fistula (among other gynecological issues) are being treated surgically. KGH is one of the few hospitals in Pakistan, which has expertise on Obstetrics and Gynecological issues. As such, this is a safe haven for women in the area. Mostly Money spent on Patient care ( Both Inpatient and out- patient) and running of School of Midwifery. The purpose of Koohi Goth Women Hospital Endowment Fund is to generate income to fund KGWH, a US-based Tax-Exempt Organization under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c)(3). A finance committee of advisors to the Board of Directors / Trustees will make recommendations on where the funds can be invested and will monitor the funds. Endowment funds will be invested in various financial instruments such as stocks, bonds, and other assets, with the aim of generating returns that can be used to support the fund's intended purpose. Ultimate responsibility of how the funds are used will lie with the Board of Directors.
