Resilient Design Initiatives
The Resilient Design Institute is committed to advancing sustainability through a focus on resilience in our buildings and communities. Representative projects include:Development of Resilient Design Guidelines for municipalities, including Washington, DC (Guidelines developed by RDI released by Washington, DC in 2021).Trainings on resilient design for municipal employees and service providers to municipalities. Continued work integrating resilient design practices into rating systems, including the LEED Rating System of the U.S. Green Building Council. RDI led the development of the LEED pilot credits on resilient design, and is advising the Council on the integration of resilience throughout LEED.
