Program Title: IAFF Membership Dues and Social Security Advocacy Impact Description: Membership dues paid by our members serve as a critical investment in our unions ability to influence policy at national and international levels. This year through our affiliation with the International Association of Firefighters IAFF these dues helped fund lobbying efforts that successfully led to the passage of the Social Security Fairness Act. This landmark legislation has increased Social Security benefits for firefighters directly aligning with our mission to protect and support our members financial well-being. Impact: Advocacy Success: The passage of the Social Security Fairness Act has increased Social Security benefits for hundreds if not thousands of firefighters ensuring improved long-term financial security. Member Investment: This outcome demonstrates how our collective membership dues can be effectively leveraged to secure significant legislative victories that benefit our entire community. Sustainable Change: By supporting robust advocacy efforts through our IAFF membership we help create lasting policy improvements that safeguard the welfare of firefighters both now and in the future.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2025 – Dec 31, 2025Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$0Program 2 [2025]
Program Title: Annual Golf Tournament for Suicide Prevention and Union Family Support Description: Each year we host an annual golf tournament held in honor of a former union member who tragically lost his life to suicide. The event serves a dual purpose: it raises awareness about suicide prevention and provides ongoing support to the families of our past members. As part of our commitment we write checks totaling $1,500distributing $500 each to his three children to demonstrate our solidarity and care for union families. Impact:Awareness: The tournament increases community engagement and shines a spotlight on mental health and suicide prevention encouraging dialogue and education on these important issues.Direct Support: The financial contributions directly assist the family of the deceased member reflecting our unions commitment to supporting the broader well-being of our members and their loved ones.Community Bonding: By celebrating the life of our past member and providing tangible support to his family the event reinforces the unions values of solidarity remembrance and proactive care in times of personal crisis.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2025 – Dec 31, 2025Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$0
