Transitional Living Program
A continuum of services aimed at securing safe, permanent housing. We operate a transitional living program to house families rendered homeless because of Domestic Violence. Families are eligible to remain for up to two years during which they engage in services designed to give them the tools they need to live indpendently. Families have access to comprehensive services such as extensive case management, legal advocacy, personal and professional development, supportive and psyco-educational groups, family nurturing and stabilization services, assistance with housing search, and referrals to other services as appropriate. We help survivors find and maintain permanent housing and provide supportive services to ensure they have the tools to succeed independently. We also offer Rapid Rehousing services for survivors both in our shelter and in the community. We administer short-term rental assistance funds to help families quickly exit homelessness and return to permanent housing. Survivors accessing rapid rehousing receive all the above services and supports, including short term rent subsidies, while in their own units.GeographiesNewton, MA, USADatesNot indicatedSourceUser-generatedHomeless shelters,Rent and mortgage assistance,Utility expense assistance,Domestic violence shelters,Housing for the homeless,Transitional living,Domestic violenceHomeless people,Low-income people,Victims of crime and abuse75–Steps to Justice
