Historical Center Operations and Exhibits
Operate a hisotrical center containing artifacts and displays of local history: We welcomed school groups from Hilton and the Greece Central School district, community groups, groups from local churches, from the Greece Community Center Seniors program, the Athena Middle School history club, and many decendants of pioneer families of Greece. We hosted a traveling exhibit on immigration to NY and a square dance exhibit. We featured exhibits on the pioneer families of Greece in conjunction with the towns 200th anniversary. The historical Center is open to the public from March to December on Sundays and by appointment. We celebrated the 200th anniversary of the town by creating 55 10- minute Bicentennial snapshots viewable on our web site. During 2022 we had 375 visitors sign in and we estimate that an additional number were not recorded as visitors. The historical center does not charge admission but accepts donations for admission and tours.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2022 – Dec 31, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$20KPublic Programs on Local History

An exhibit on Juneteenth was on display at our annual Strawberry festival on June 20th, the first time the holiday was celebrated as a national holiday. We joined with a group of Western Monroe County museums with a goal of developing ideas to better advertise out museums and historical centers. As a result, a brochure listing local historical societies and museums on a Western Monroe County Museum Trail was designed.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2022 – Dec 31, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$14.8KPublications and Historical Research
