Program 1 [2020]
Income and expenses for regular programs (FIA Performing Arts and Summer Camp including, dance, theater, and music instruction, Mentoring program includes career and job readiness, life skills, character development, leadership development.) These programs are offered weekly and during the summer. FIA performed "The Power Within", written and directed by Dr. Amy Dean (Black Panther the Musical spin-off). The show ran 4x Friday morning, then Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Night (February - March 2020) to a packed audience of approximately 800 per evening. The tour of Power Within was to begin in March 2020 but was completely halted by the pandemic. The organization instead recorded, sent out, and posted Messages of Hope - video messages and performances from the children to encourage the community and nation. Faith In Action partnered with the Willingboro Board of Education, Burlington County Sheriff's Department, houses of faith, schools, and community organizations, Also, co-hosted workshops, 3 musical theatre productions, and was funded by the county for a Cultural Arts Grant. FIA directed and completed it's first short film "The Covid Chronicles (Not the New Normal)" featuring the youth and their stories, performing arts, and their perspective/experiences regarding the Covid-19 Pandemic. Program was funded in part by the Burlington County of Commissioners Local Arts Grant 2020. The pandemic left several families in disarray. Faith In Action started the SSS (Supplemental School Support) Program as an extension of our summer camp.
