"The Boys Who said No" - production of a documentary film about nonviolent opposition to the Vietnam War particularly focused on opposition to the draft during this period. When released, thousands of people will view the film and learn about an important historical moment in American history. Resource Center for Nonviolence ProgramThe Center provides information regarding the philosophy and practice of nonviolence by offering educational programming through activities such as workshops, presentations, films, and printed or digital information. Due to COVID related restrictions beginning in March of 2020, the activities of the Center were greatly hampered. Accomplishments before the restrictions included a workshop with nationally recognized activist George Lakey attended by over 50 people, a First Friday art event entitled, "Unapologetically Black" which featured local and regional black artists attended by over 120 people, and other smaller events attended by over 50 people. Resource Center for Nonviolence Community CenterIn addition to its direct program contributions in support of nonviolence, the RCNV also operates a community center that serves as a resource for dozens of organizations and hundreds of visitors, for low cost or sometimes no cost (donated space for events and groups with limited funds.) In 2019, pre Covid-19 pandemic, the RCNV Community Center facility hosted over 550 events and meetings attended by over 8,500 people. 98 different organizations used the Center for meetings and public programs. In 2020, in person meetings and presentations were largely eliminated due to Covid-19 pandemic restrictions.
