Minnesota Youth Symphonies Program
Major Program Accomplishments this year: Minnesota Youth Symphonies hired Kelley DeMorrett to conduct the Philharmonic Orchestra after over 30 years being conducted by James Bartsch. The Symphony Orchestra Repertory Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra, Wind Orchestra and String Orchestra played over 45 pieces in three concerts. Two concerts-in November and February-took place at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis. A third concert took place at the end of April at the Benson Great Hall at Bethel University. The April concert included a percussion ensemble made up of percussionists from all ensembles supplemented by a few non-percussionists from the Symphony Orchestra. The April concert was the final concert for long-time String Orchestra conductor, Patricia Kelly, along with 55 high school seniors. During the summer of 2024, 45 string students participated in the summer string camp during the final week of June.
