Borrego Springs Tourism Marketing
Destination Marketing - maintain BorregoExperience.com interactive website and social media marketing platforms to inspire tourists to visit the Community of Borrego Springs and Anza-Borrego Desert State Park where their spending will enhance economic benefits for businesses, residents and the Park. Tourism is the most important employer in our village of appx. 3,000 residents. Our locally 3 resort facilities, 8 lodging establishments, 10 locally owned restaurants, 12 retail and other local small businesses all benefit from our co-operative marketing program. Tourism is Borrego Springs's most important economic driver with the community and the Park, welcoming, on average, between 500,000 to 1,000,000 million visitors annually, that accounts for over $40 to $70 million in annual revenue to the region.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2022 – Dec 31, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided––Visitor Experience Management
Destination Management - create and implement a comprehensive Visitor Experience Plan led by the Acorn Group of Tunstin, CA. In 2014 Acorn produced an Interpretive Master Plan for Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, whose 650,000 acres engulfs our community and where recreation and related tourism activities and services (hospitality, lodging, guiding, outfitting, retail) are the main economic driver and leading employer sector of our unincorporated community of some 3,000 permanent residents. BVA organized a local stakeholder working group of key community representatives from the public, civil society and private sectors to analyze visitor behavior, survey visitors and develop interpretive, signage, way finding, communication and services strategies designed to enhance visitor satisfaction, increase revenues from tourism activities and to drive economic development and provide needed jobs for our State of California designated Severely Disadvantaged Community. Supported a group of local citizens organizing workshops, leadership group meetings, education, outreach and legal counsel to inform and educate our community and county and State residents on the potential problems, and impacts and threats to our tourism economy by State of CA placing of 3 to 5 convicted Sexually Violent Predators in our isolated community of 3,000 residentsGeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2022 – Dec 31, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided––High School Outdoor Education Program
