Dog Adoption and Foster Care Program
Shelter Survivors receives dogs from high-kill animal shelters in the New York/New Jersey area. Our focus is on helping the local, adoptable dogs that languish in overcrowded city shelters. All of our dogs are placed in foster care prior to placement. These dogs are given needed medical care, vaccinations, socialization and basic training. Prospective adopters then fill out an application and home visits are conducted to insure proper placement.Shelter Survivors holds bi-monthly adoption events at local pet stores. At that time families can meet our dogs and their foster family. We also solicit new volunteers at these events to expand our volunteer and foster home network. We also attend local street fairs and parades to garnish support for our organization.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2013 – Dec 31, 2013Source990No causes providedNo populations provided––
