Food Distribution and Pet Support
FOOD DISTRIBUTION | Our food distribution service is the core of our mission at the Henry County Food Pantry addressing the urgent needs of food insecure individuals and families in our community. In 2023 the Henry County Food Pantry made a powerful difference in the fight against hunger throughout Bassett and neighboring communities. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters we provided nourishing food to 27,984 individuals-including 8,648 children and 19,336 adults-helping families in crisis put healthy meals on the table. Our efforts not only eased the burden of hunger but also brought relief to households struggling to cover basic needs like rent utilities and medical expenses. Recognizing the vital role pets play in family well-being we expanded our impact by partnering with SPCA and Gleaning For The World to distribute nearly 10,000 pounds of pet food to the companion animals of families facing food insecurity. By supporting both people and their beloved pets we fostered stability comfort and hope during challenging times.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2023 – Dec 31, 2023Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$1.1MClothes Closet and Food Support
CLOTHES CLOSET | At the Henry County Food Pantry we recognize that access to clothing and household essentials is as crucial as access to food. Thats why we proudly operate a clothes closet alongside our food distribution service offering additional support to individuals and families in need. Beyond food our Clothes Closet provided dignity and stability to 4,536 individuals distributing 45,804 items of clothing hygiene and household essentials. For many clients these resources meant children could attend school with confidence parents could focus on employment without worrying about basic needs and seniors could stretch limited fixed incomes further. By offering both food and essential items the pantry helped stabilize families in crisis strengthened community resilience and created a foundation for healthier more hopeful futures.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2023 – Dec 31, 2023Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$235KClient Support and Community Impact
DONORS AND POTENTIAL DONORS | We want to let you know when you invest and donate to us - over 70% of the clients we served only requested assistance from the food pantry 3 times in a year or less. Over 40% of those clients only requested services 1 time in the year. These statistics prove our clients receive access to the services needed and are then able to become more self-sufficient. Your continued support empowers us to nourish bodies strengthen families and uplift our entire community. Together we are making a lasting impact-one meal one family and one act of kindness at a time.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2023 – Dec 31, 2023Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$0
