San Diego Roots is operating under an attorney-advised Model C fiscal sponsorship contract with a community-led initiative to open a cooperative grocery store in the racially diverse, low-income, food-desert/food-swamp city of Imperial Beach, CA. The store will provide access to healthy, fresh food to our underserved community. The store is pre-revenue, and the contract provides a means to raise funds from individuals, businesses, and philanthropic organizations to support the cost of opening the store in the summer of 2025.
