    Performing six to ten spiritually compelling choral music concerts each year, Te Deum offers concert experiences that inspire the listener and foster community. Te Deum was founded in 2008 to fulfill an expressed need by both singers and audiences in the Kansas City area to present sacred choral music concerts of the highest quality. Since then, the chamber choir has built an impressive and varied repertoire that spans centuries of time and wide ranges of composition style. In fall 2013, Te Deum began its Antiqua series, offering historically informed performances of repertoire from the 12th-17th centuries with a smaller roster of singers. The musical repertoire for all Te Deum concerts consists of sacred music, a term understood in an expansive and inclusive way, that is challenging and innovative, programmed in an informed and intentional way. Te Deum regularly commissions new compositions, offers world premieres, and prioritizes giving voice 21st century music. The volunteer ensemble's goal is to provide audiences with concert experiences of professional quality that are relevant and compelling to their own lives through repertoire that challenges ensemble musicians to grow their skills and create powerful choral music. Te Deum involves more than 30 artists each year and performs to more than 500 patrons annually.

  • Te Deum Choral Concerts

    Performing six to ten spiritually compelling choral music concerts each year, Te Deum offers concert experiences that inspire the listener and foster community. Te Deum was founded in 2008 to fulfill an expressed need by both singers and audiences in the Kansas City area to present sacred choral music concerts of the highest quality. Since then, the chamber choir has built an impressive and varied repertoire that spans centuries of time and a wide range of composition styles. Te Deum involves more than 30 artists each year and performs for more than 2,000 patrons annually. The 2023-2024 season was the ensemble's 16th season of presenting a diverse sacred choral repertoire in a uniquely relevant context, to create a musically inspiring, spiritually stirring experience. Te Deum presented four concerts with two performances each, a Midwest tour to Nebraska and Iowa, and a chanted Vespers service, for eleven total concert engagements. The season was a resounding success in terms of the quality of the works performed, attendance, audience experience, and fundraising. Our artistic quality remains the cornerstone of what makes Te Deum great. We continue to effectively recruit talented singers and retain singers who have found an artistic home with Te Deum. Our concert attendance for 2024 totaled 1,848, one of our strongest attendance figures in our 16-year history. Our engagement with supporters and our fundraising continue to deepen our relationship with fans and meet our financial goals.
