1.Progress on Fundraising.a.The second year of the Vintner Collection campaign raised $280,000 of which $119,000 was from new donors.b.Rebound in donations, TID funding and Stay for the Trail contributions in 2021/22. c.LOCO-MOTION Month of Movement raised $385,000, a 24% increase over 2021.d.The Adopt-the-Trail campaign to raise funds for maintenance received approval from Napa County. This program will enable NVVTC to fund 100% of annual maintenance expenses for adopted trail sections.e.Annual Memberships more than doubled over the previous year.f.John Anthony and JaM Cellars pledged $300,000 as a leader in the $50-per-Acre Landowner Campaign.2.Grant Funds: a.California Clean Air ProgramDespite the challenges of COVID and working remotely with consultants and partner agencies, we were able to apply and secure $1,000,000 for enhancements through the California Clean Air program. These funds will be administered by the Solano Transportation Authority and the City of Vallejo.b.Active Transportation Program (ATP) Grant Cycle 6NVVTC assisted Napa County and the City of St Helena with their application for a $15M ATP grant that would fund construction from Yountville north through St Helena, closing the entire gap between the City of Napa and the St Helena to Calistoga section now under construction. 3.Media and Community Engagementa.NVVTC media coverage included The Wall Street Journal and Conde Nast offering the Napa Valley Vine Trail as One of the Top Ten Things to Do in Napa.b.Vine Trail usage increased by 47% over 2020 as measured by on-trail automatic counters.c.Increased social media engagement by 95% in 2022 reaching 54,032 Facebook and 6,000 Instagram followers.4. Vine Trail Construction Progressa.St Helena to Calistoga: Construction of this 8-mile section broke ground on May 24, 2022. b.City of Napa - Soscol: The City of Napa's completed construction in December 2021 of .5-mile gap in the Vine Trail from the Third Street bridge to Vallejo Street.c.City of Napa - Redwood Road: Goodfellow Bros Construction donated time and materials to build this short 170-foot-long section which eliminates an unofficial trail on private property and connects to the Oak Knoll t railhead segment.d.American Canyon: On May 25, 2022, The City of American Canyon opened .25 mile of Class I Vine Trail along Devlin Road between Green Island and Middleton Way.e.City of Vallejo 100% Engineering plans were approved by Caltrans. The project is expected to go out to bid before then end of 2022. f.St Helena:The City of St Helena approved a route through downtown consistent with their general plan which opened the door for funding applications.g.Yountville to St Helena:NVVTC began easement discussion with 47 private property owners gaining support for 93% of the proposed route from Madison St in Yountville to Pratt Ave in St Helena. h.Carneros:The Board of the Napa Sanitation District directed staff to work with the Vine Trail to develop a route through their property between Devlin Road and Soscol Ferry Road. The Organization provided trail maintenance for the town of Yountville and the city and county of Napa.In 2021, pursuant to a three-way agreement between the county, the vine trail coalition and the City of Napa, city maintenance staff was approved. The City of Napa Parks and Recreation Department took over the moving, cleaning and tree trimming on the vine trail from South Napa to the Town of Yountville. With the support of the community and stakeholders, NVVTC builds, maintains, and enhances the Napa Valley Vine Trail. We inspire private philanthropy for the 25% match to receive government support for construction. We are optimizing landowner engagement and pre-engineering to accelerate local jurisdiction's readiness to complete the trail vision of 47 miles of shared-use trail. NVVTC manages the community funds for 50% of the maintenance of 30 miles of completed trail and offers educational programming to increase Vine Trail user-ship to 1 million annually.In 2024-2025, we celebrated the groundbreaking of 8 miles of the breathtaking VINE TRAIL connecting St. Helena and Calistoga, along with 5.5 miles in Vallejo linking the Vallejo Ferry to American Canyonmaking outdoor exploration more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.Our team made significant strides, advancing 35% of the design for Vista Carneros South River Sound, and securing Caltrans approval for an alternative route in the NEPA process for the Yountville to St. Helena link. This progress underscores our commitment to creating a resilient, scenic, and connected trail system. We worked hand-in-hand with 68 landowners, maintaining transparent communication through quarterly updates and community meetings, ensuring that every step reflects our shared vision.Responding swiftly to vineyard owners' concerns during winter storms and hosting five vibrant community gatherings in St. Helena, Yountville, and Rutherford exemplifies our dedication to collaboration and commitment to preserving our agricultural heritage.We secured $750,000 for Napa County to advance the Vista Carneros project in a priority conservation area in the Napa River wetlands connecting the City of Napa Commons and American Canyon by 2028. Enhancing user experience, we streamlined signage for clarity and launched the innovative VINE TRAIL APP, empowering feedback and engagement. We expanded AG RESPECT education programs at 15 wineries and vineyards inspiring a new generation of trail and viticulture enthusiasts. On the funding front, we raised $2 million in private donations to match the public funds for the construction and maintenance of the Napa Valley Vine Trail. Tourism Improvement District of Napa County renewed its commitment with a five-year pledge. Harvest Inn became a signature Built It Donor to fund the next St Helena Shelter as a part of the Yountville to St Helena project. Our Founders $ 50-an-Acre program has reached $1,850,000 in pledges toward our $2.5 million goal, fueling the next 11-mile section of this incredible trail, which is scheduled to be built by 2028.
