-HOSTED AN ANNUAL GREEN TEAM SUMMIT, GATHERING OVER 150 FAITH LEADERS AND GREEN TEAM LEADERS FOR TRAINING ON ENVIRONMENTAL ACTION -SUPPORTED OUR NETWORK OF OVER 56 CONGREGATIONALLY BASED GREEN TEAMS AND MODIFIED OUR GREEN TEAM COACHING PROGRAM FOR FAITH COMMUNITIES -STARTED GIPL'S FIRST VIDEO INTERVIEW PROGRAM, COFFEE AND SOMETHING STRONGER, WHICH PUBLISHED 30 ONLINE INTERVIEWS IN 2020 WITH FAITH LEADERS, ACTIVISTS, AND ACADEMICS AT THE INTERSECTIONS OF FAITH, JUSTICE, AND CLIMATE CHANGE -EXPANDED OUR GEOGRAPHIC FOOTPRINT TO INCLUDE GEORGIA'S 100-MILE COAST. - Hosted its 20-year anniversary Green Team Summit with a keynote address, a live Coffee and Something Stronger interview, and 10 workshops. Over 250 faith and Green Team leaders attended the summit.- Hosted a mini-Green Team Summit in Columbus, Georgia with a keynote address and 5 workshops. Over 50 faith and Green Team leaders were in attendance.- Supported its network of 105 congregationally-based Green Teams and expanded its Green Team coaching program for faith communities.- Registered 21 new Green Teams with a focus on non-Christian congregations and communities outside of metro-Atlanta.- Hosted 12 monthly virtual Green Team roundtables, as a way for Green Team members and faith leaders across the state to connect with each other and GIPL staff via an hour long programmatic and networking call.- Hosted 5 service and experiential learning opportunities in metro-Atlanta including a tree planting, multiple river clean-ups, and a tour of the Compost Now commercial composting facility.- Hired a full-time Program Coordinator to support Green Teams and congregational outreach in metro-Atlanta and to manage federal policy work through the Climate Action Campaign- Hired a full-time Program Associate to do outreach to the Muslim community, work with Green Teams in metro-Atlanta, manage its Energy Efficiency program, and provide general program support.- Hired a full-time Coastal Outreach and Resiliency Coordinator and a full-time South Georgia Organizer to work on environmental justice policy across the state and organize in local congregations in their respective communities.- Hired a new full-time Communications Coordinator to lead GIPL's marketing, internal and external communications, and giving campaigns.- Hired a summer intern who provided program support and developed resources for its Zero-Waste and Water-Wise programs- Participated in three Solarize campaigns in Fulton County, Gwinnett County, and Cobb County to engage residents, faith communities, and other non-profits in renewable energy solutions.- Hosted 7 students from Agnes Scott College for a week-long intensive internship where they learned about GIPL's work, met with local Green Team leaders, and developed leadership skills.- Completed 14 professional energy audits through GIPL's Power-Wise program- Completed 1 professional water audit through GIPL's Water-Wise program- Completed 5 professional zero waste audits through GIPL's Zero-Waste program- Awarded 21 congregations energy efficiency matching grants aggregating in excess of $50,000.- Taught over 87 environmental education classes and workshops, in addition to the Eco-Faith from Home series and Chattahoochee Riverkeeper outings, in faith communities across Georgia- Completed over 8 solar assessments for congregations- Secured the installation of 2 rooftop solar arrays at 2 distinct congregations- Completed a 3-year strategic plan to be implemented 2023-2026- Through bolstering its internal communications resources, GIPL was able to signignifcantly expand its reach.
