    1) SUPPORT AND DEVELOP ATHLETES WITH INTELLECTUAL IMPAIRMENT AND U.S. NATIONAL TEAMS COMPETING WORLDWIDE: Provide developmental opportunities for athletes with intellectual and developmental disability (including Autism and Down syndrome) to train and compete athletes their highest level. We select US National Teams of high-performance athletes with intellectual and developmental disability and organize travel to Virtus (formerly called Inas) and other high-level international competitions and Paralympic qualifying events in: Cycling, Equestrian, Rowing, Swimming, Tennis, Table Tennis, Skiing, Track and Field and Triathlon.

    largest year-round DC-based integrated and inclusive U.S. Rowing Team for athletes with intellectual impairment, disabled Veterans (US ROWING FREEDOM ROWS), and non-disabled High School/College/Adult rowing partners. Athletes compete together at renowned Regattas throughout the season.

    3. MANAGE VIRTUS/PARALYMPIC SPORTS ELIGIBILITY FOR ATHLETES WITH INTELLECTUAL IMPAIRMENTS: As the US Member of Virtus (formerly called Inas) Athletes Without Limits has reviewed eligibility applications from hundreds of US athletes seeking eligibility for intellectual impairment sports class(es) at high-level Inas and Paralympic competitions.The process includes review of athletes' psychological assessments and other evidence of intellectual disability, Autism and Down syndrome by our volunteer staff and psychologist. We also help athletes obtain the necessary psychological assessments in needed. Through AWL advocacy Virtus eligibility is gaining recognition among US sports governing bodies including US Paralympics, US Rowing, USA Karate.
