The school corporation is implementing a new agriculture program and needed textbooks, lab supplies, safety equipment, tools, and classroom supplies. South Dearborn High School hopes educate students about agriculture and provide more opportunities for students to explore.

  • Program 2 [2020]

    Supported Indiana Farm Bureaus Ag Mag. The Ag Mag is written at a fourth grade level and includes information about Indiana agriculture, ag careers, STEM topics including the environment, and activities for children to complete. These booklets are used in conjuction with the statewide Ag in the Classroom program. The support provide helped with the design and printing costs of the Ag Mag for the next two years.

  • Chef University Program

    CLARK CO. 4H - TWO PROGRAM GRANTS MADE DURING THE YEAR. THE FIRST PROPOSED PROJECT WILL SUPPORT IMPROVEMENTS AT THE CLARK COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS. THE FAIRGROUNDS HOST THE CLARK COUNTY 4H FAIR ANNUALLY. THE PROPOSED PROJECT WILL CONSIST OF MAKING ELECTRICAL REPAIRS IN THE LIVESTOCK BARNS, REPAIR THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS IN THE COMMUNITY, AND EXHIBIT BUILDINGS, AND THE FOOD STAND. IN ADDITION TO THE ELECTRICAL AND AC REPAIRS, THE PROPOSED PROJECT WILL ALSO INVOLVE ADDING FOUR NEW RV CONNECTIONS TO GENERATE REVENUE FOR THE NON PROFIT ORGANIZATION. CHEF UNIVERSITY IS A PROGRAM THAT ADDRESSES HEALTHY EATING, COOKING SKILLS AND COOKING SAFETY WITH YOUTH IN GRADES 3-8. THIS CLASS WILL IMPACT 70 YOUTH IN ALL AREAS OF CLARK COUNTY FROM RURAL TO URBAN. THIS IS THE 4TH YEAR FOR THIS PROGRAM. THROUGH CHEF UNIVERSITY, CLARK COUNTY 4-H GAINS SEVERAL NEW YOUTH TO THE PROGRAM ESPECIALLY FROM THE URBAN AREAS WHERE GETTING 4-H PROGRAMS TO YOUTH HAS ALWAYS BEEN A STRUGGLE.
