In 2022, SMART Family Literacy, Inc. partnered with educators, medical professionals, and other nonprofit professionals in elementary schools, childcare centers, clinics, and hospitals to teach hands-on activities and strengthen early childhood education. SMART collaborated in strong partnerships to distribute 32,846 childrens books to young children and the adults who care for them and teach them, including parents and teachers. Through networking and partnerships, SMART gave books to 7,880 children, reached 530 parents, trained 384 teachers (literacy leaders), and led 467 volunteers in service learning. Because of multiple natural disasters in recent years, SMART continued to provide hurricane and emergency preparedness education and supplies to families and childcare centers.
