Veteran and First Responder Support Program
THE ORGANIZATION HAS A PROCESS BY WHICH IT IDENTIFIES INJURED VETERANS AND OTHERS SUCH AS FIRST RESPONDERS, CHALLENGERS, WHO AGREE TO BE SERVED BY THE ORGANIZATION'S PROGRAM. THE CHALLENGERS ARE LINKED TO A TEAM OF ENGINEERING STUDENTS AT A COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY THAT HAS AN AGREEMENT WITH THE ORGANIZATION. THE UNIVERSITY PROVIDES A FACULTY ADVISOR AND THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES A PROGRAM MANAGER TO SUPPORT THE TEAM IN THE PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT PROCESS, WHICH IS NORMALLY 9 MONTHS IN DURATION. THE THRUST OF OUR PROGRAM IS HAVING SENIOR DESIGN PROJECTS AT THE UNIVERSITIES.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJul 1, 2023 – Jun 30, 2024Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$543.9KProgram 1 [2025]
Project S.E.R.V.E. (Student Engineering for Resilience of Veterans and Emergency Responders) identifies and engages veterans and emergency responders living with injuries or disabling conditions who agree to be served by the organizations program. These individuals are paired with multidisciplinary engineering student teams at partner colleges and universities through formal collaboration agreements, and participate as design partners. Each team is supported by a university faculty advisor and a Project S.E.R.V.E. program manager, who together guide a human-centered design and development process. These projects are embedded within senior engineering capstone courses and typically span an academic year, providing students with rigorous, real-world design experience while delivering customized adaptive solutions to those we serve.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJul 1, 2024 – Jun 30, 2025Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$493.5K
