  • Beyond the Basics 12-Step Program

    In 2009, AACO (doing business as the "Power House Recovery Center") opened a men's residential sober-living facility and began developing and implementing a comprehensive spiritually based 12-Step program of recovery for individuals with alcoholism and/or substance abuse issues. Our Recovery Center and 12-Step Recovery Program were both very successful; however, the operations of the Recovery Center left little time available for further developing our 12-Step Program known as "Beyond the Basics". Accordingly, a new non-profit corporation Power House Recovery Center (herein PHRC) was created to conduct the Recovery Center operations beginning 7/1/2016. The officers and directors of PHRC included the general manager and volunteers who had all been involved with the Recovery Center for several years. Both AACO and PHRC are 501(c)(3) charitable organizations that operate independently. AACO provides the Recovery Center assets to PHRC for a weekly fee and continues to present the Beyond the Basics" 12-Step Recovery Program to PHRC residents at no charge. One of AACO's primary long-term goals is for "Beyond the Basics" to be distributed to the public.
