    Operating a seasonal farmers market. PFM operates a weekly outdoor farmers market from approximately mid-June through September and one indoor market on the Saturday before Thanksgiving in the Pawling Village. The farmers markets serve hundreds of customers with an average of 25 vendors/artisans each week and live musicians, food demonstrations, children's events and a community "give back" table for local non-profit organizations.

    The Feed Your Neighbor program. In 2024, PFM supported 92 food insecure Pawling/Holmes residents through its Feed Your Neighbor (FYN) program providing a weekly subsidy to purchase fresh food at the market. It also collaborated with the Pawling Resource Center to provide rides to homebound seniors who are FYN customers to the farmers markets. The FYN program is privately funded through the Pawling Community Foundation, local businesses and individuals.

  • Program 3 [2024]

    Supporting local businesses. PFM supports the brick and mortar businesses in Pawling through its sponsorship program which gives businesses visibility to the farmers market customers on signage and on its website, in its email communications, and in social media. The foot traffic at the farmers markets also stimulates business activity at local businesses.
